Introduction with a general DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
In this art form, Gelbmann devotes himself to a challenging task:
to shape the art of dance adequately in his language.
In his oeuvre, Gelbmann translates the techniques of the old masters into an original, contemporary approach. As both sculptor and painter, he moves creatively between representation and abstraction.
The basis is mostly graphic studies, painting or impressions that arose during choreographies. They reproduce the complexity of ballet in a new form.
Dance is performed not only by the body but also through cognitive effort. Alongside physical movement, sensual radiance is also expressed. The works thus acquire a dynamic expression.
The current state of technology naturally also enriches the various arts.
Options that enable a deeper, more comprehensive access.
Colors and figurative elements lead recipients into a familiar world.
The real or abstraction invite open engagement.
Feelings, carried out by dancers, probably correspond to the sensations of our lived reality.
